Sightmark Core TX 4-16×44 Tactical Marksman Riflescope Review
There are a lot of companies out there offering “quality” riflescopes at affordable prices. Quality optics at affordable prices could mean a couple different things. First, what that company thinks is quality really isn’t. Or secondly, what is affordable to them is outrageous to most of us.
What you pay for a riflescope, a pair of binoculars, a thermal device and so on could range in price from just plain cheap to heart stopping. If you have ever heard the saying, “you get what you pay for” it could not be truer in the world of optics.
Some companies have found a happy medium, providing quality optics that are affordable in the optics world. What I mean by this is a hunter or shooter is not going to have to take out a loan or save his pennies for months just to put a quality scope on top of his rifle.
Sightmark is one of those companies that has found a happy medium with their Core TX 4-16×44 Tactical Marksman Riflescope.
Have you ever looked through a scope just to see a blur? Light conditions are such a big part of what a scope can do. Trying out the Sightmark Core TX in low light conditions I soon realized that I could see things through this scope that I could not see through a different manufacturer’s scope boasting the same qualities.
Being able to see in low light conditions all really comes down to the quality of glass. Sightmark Core TX riflescopes use fully multi-coated optics to provide optimal light transmission in a variety of conditions.
Reticles that can be illuminated in either red or green will help even more in low light conditions whether you are on the range, out hunting, or in a tactical situation. Something I noticed when these reticles were illuminated that there was not a glow throughout the tube of the scope that I have seen on other similar scopes. This made it a lot easier to pick up the target.
Something that I found easy to achieve was compensating for bullet drop and windage. It was quick and easy to adjust the turrets. I have used scopes before where it took was too much time and movement (especially moving the firearm to get the scope dialed in) but with the Core TX is very simple to adjust.
Because the turrets are lockable it is easy to return to zero. No more need to remember how many clicks to make to reverse back to zero. This scope is one of the easiest I have used returning to zero.
The eye relief was something I really enjoyed compared to other similar scopes. Depending on the magnification, I was able to get up to 4-inches of eye relief. That is great in my opinion. Similar scopes only allow a couple of inches at best.
Overall, for less than $300 you are going to get an affordable scope that will outperform many of its competitors offering the quality of scope for a lot more money. This scope is built to last for years, and there is no doubt in my mind that it will withstand years of use. And, if something does happen to go wrong Sightmark does have a lifetime warranty.
